Tinker Bell is a character created by J. M. Barrie. She features in the 1953 Disney animation Peter Pan.
In Barrie’s original play from 1904 and in the Disney animation, Tinker Bell does not speak. However, Peter Pan is able to understand her.
However, in more recent Disney films, such as the 2008 Disney animation Tinker Bell, she is a speaking protagonist. She is voiced by Mae Whitman.
