Is Drake & Josh a spinoff of the Amanda Show?
Drake & Josh is kind of a spinoff of the Amanda Show, insofar as it involves a lot of the same people.
Dan Schneider created the Amanda Show in 1999, and it ran until 2002. Two years later, in 2004, he launched Drake & Josh.
Drake & Josh starred Drake Bell and Josh Peck, both of whom having appeared on the Amanda Show. Drake Bell was in the Amanda Show from the very first episode, and Josh Peck joined the show in the second season.
Bell and Peck play stepbrothers Drake and Josh in the TV series. The show ran for four seasons until 2007. There were also two films: Drake & Josh Go Hollywood in 2006 and Merry Christmas, Drake & Josh in 2008.
