Is Winnie the Pooh a girl or a boy?
Winnie the Pooh is a boy. In the books by AA Milne, Pooh Bear was always referred to as “he”.
Additionally, the voice of Winnie the Pooh has always been provided by a male. The original voice of the character was Sterling Holloway, who voiced Pooh from Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree in 1966 to Winnie the Pooh for President in 1976.
Hal Smith, who had previously voiced Owl, took over the role in 1981 with Winnie the Pooh Discovers the Seasons. Jim Cummings then took over as the voice of Winnie the Pooh in 1988 with the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh TV series, and he still voices the character to this day.
Despite the fact that Winnie the Pooh is a boy, he is actually named after a female bear. Winnie, or Winnipeg, was a black bear who lived at London Zoo from 1915 until 1934. She provided the inspiration for the name of Winnie the Pooh.
